What is Meditation?

To the curious souls seeking deeper truths,

Meditation, dear ones, is not merely an act but a journey – a voyage into the boundless expanse of one’s own self. It is the sacred bridge between the ephemeral and the eternal, the known and the infinite.

In this dance of existence, where the cacophony of life often overwhelms, meditation emerges as the symphony that attunes us to our inner rhythm. It’s not an escape from reality, but an intimate embrace of it, a communion with the essence that breathes life into all.

The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita beautifully encapsulates: ‘When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place.’ It is the stillness amidst chaos, the anchor in life’s turbulent seas.

To fathom the depth of meditation:

Inner Gaze: Meditation is the art of turning one’s attention inward, exploring the realms beyond the tangible, diving into the oceans of consciousness.

  • Harmony with Existence: It is a harmonizing dance where the individual self merges with the universal consciousness, where duality fades, and oneness prevails.

Nurturing Silence: Beyond words and thoughts lies a silence profound; meditation is the gateway to this tranquil abode.

From the luminous verses of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 6, Verse 6):

“बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः | अनात्मनस्तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेतात्मैव शत्रुवत् ||”

Which translates to:

“For one who has conquered his mind, a mind is best of friends, but for one who has failed to do so, a mind is the greatest enemy.”

Through meditation, we cultivate a friendship with our own self, journeying from the periphery of existence to its very core.

May your journey within be illuminated with insights and serenity.
